KATHUA, Dec 19: The residents of Lakhnapur held a protest demonstration against the National Highway Authority of India and Municipal Committee Lakhnapur for their negligent attitude towards development of Lakhanpur which is known as Gate way of J&K State.
The protestors raised slogans against the NHIA and Municipal Committee, Lakhnapur and demanded the repair of road as number of tourists visiting here daily face problems due to damaged road.
A protester Rakesh Mehta alleged that the Lakhnapur having the damaged road and deep gorge on the road caused rouitine accident. The tourists visiting here get bad impressions of such ugly look. He said the Lakhnapur Muncipal Committee is one of richest committee in the State. But there is no sign of development any where. The lanes and drains are in worst condition and local people suffers a lot. The shortage of drinking water is also one of the problem in the area, he added.
The protestors asked the Government to take care of Lakhnapur and start repairing of roads, lanes and drains.
