Lakhanpur police rescues 20 bovine animals

KATHUA, Apr 3: Lakhanpur police rescued 20 bovine animals during two  nakas one  laid at Railway bridge and another at  Toll Plaza which were being carried in two trucks from Punjab to Jammu.
Police said in continuation to a drive launched by the District Police Kathua to nab the bovine smugglers, a Police Party of P/S Lakhanpur headed by SHO PS Lakhanpur, Inspector. Kulbir Singh, laid down a naka near Railway bridge, Lakhanpur during the wee hours today and intercepted one truck bearing registration No. JK02W-3567 loaded with bovine which was on way from Punjab towards J&K via river Ravi.
On noticing the naka party, driver of the vehicle and his associate managed to escape leaving behind the vehicle taking the advantage of darkness. During checking of the vehicle, Police rescued 10 bovines which were being transported in the vehicle illegally. In this regard a Case FIR No. 33/2017 u/s 188 RPC, 3/5 PC Act stands registered at P/S Lakhanpur against the accused persons.
Moreover, on the same day, on a specific information an another naka was laid down at Old Toll Plaza, NHW Lakhanpur by Police Party of Police Station Lakhanpur, intercepted one truck bearing registration No. JK12A-3185 loaded with bovine which was on way from Punjab towards J&K. On observing the Police party, driver of the vehicle parked the truck at some distance and fled away from the spot.
During checking, police rescued 10 bovine which were being transported in above said vehicle illegally. In this regard a Case FIR No. 34/2017 U/S 188/109 RPC, 3/5 PC Act stands registered at P/S Lakhanpur. Police has launched a man hunt to nab the accused persons indulged in bovine smuggling and investigation of both the cases is in progress.
The whole driver is carried out under the supervision of Dy SP DAR Kathua,  Parul Bhardwaj and overall supervision of  Pawan Parihar, SSP Kathua.
