Lakhanpur police nabs drug peddler with heroin

KATHUA, July 27: Kathua Police today nabbed one drug peddler with 5.30 grams of heroin near Lakhanpur.
A police team led by SHO Lakhanpur Inspector Sumeet Sharma under the supervision of DySP DAR Kathua Sukhdev Singh during naka checking duty apprehended one suspicious person.
On thorough checking about 5.30 grams of heroin was recovered from the possession of accused namely Shiv Anand alias Shiv son of Ashwani Kumar of Ward No. 7 Lakhanpur.
Thereafter all the recovered material was seized and the person involved was arrested. A case vide FIR No. 88/2021 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Lakhanpur and further investigation into the case is on.
Meanwhile, police in Kathua have traced out one missing woman and reunited her with family members.
On 19.09.2020, a missing report was lodged at Malhar Police Station by the one of the family member of lady stating therein that her daughter namely Raveena Akhter daughter of Lt. Mohd. Hanief Age 19Yrs. of Lohai District Kathua is missing.
Accordingly a missing report was lodged at Malhar Police Station and search was started to trace her. Acting instantly on the missing report, the woman was traced out today and immediately handed over to her legal heirs after completion of all legal formalities.
Meanwhile, District Police Kathua today challaned 25 people who violated the Government order of COVID appropriate behavior and a total fine amounting to Rs. 8900 was collected as a penalty from the violators.
