JAMMU, May 2: A lady was killed while her husband was seriously injured in a road mishap at Chadwal Morh on Jammu -Pathankot National Highway today.
Police said a lady was killed while her husband received serious injuries after the bike on which they were riding on and were on way from Chadwal to Ganayari was hit by a car bearing registration number JK08 J 8513 from back side at Chadwal Morh on Jammu-Pathankot NH today.
The lady died on the spot while her husband received grievous injuries. The deceased has been identified as Pushpa Devi, 47, wife of Babu Ram of village Ganayari, falling under the jurisdiction of Rajbagh Police Station of Kathua district.
The dead body of the lady was handed over to family for last rites after autopsy at Sub District Hospital Hiranagar while her husband was admitted in the Hiranagar Hospital for treatment where after giving the first aid the doctors referred him to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) Jammu as his condition was stated to be critical.
The Chadwal police has registered a case against the car driver who fled from the spot under section 279/337 and 304 IPC. The police has also seized the car.
