Lady among two arrested for killing father-son duo

DODA, Oct 25: Assar police arrested two persons including a lady for killing father-son duo at village Barri Marmat.
As per police sources, during the intervening night of October 23 and 24, a lady identified as Reenu Devi, wife of Sham Lal, a resident of Barri along with her paramour Om Parkash, son of Chuni Lal, a resident of Barri, Desh Raj, brother of Om Parkash and Sanjay, brother-in-law of Om Parkash killed Sham Lal and his father Sunito Ram, son of Gaddu Ram, a resident of Barri Marmat with sharp edged weapon (axe).
Later, the accused dumped the bodies of the deceased in the land of Om Parkash at village Barri Marmat and covered them with grass and woods.
The lady and Om Parkash had illicit relations for the past several years and this might be the reason behind the murder.
After getting information, a team from Assar police station reached the spot and grilled the lady, who disclosed about the bodies.
Police reached the spot and after completing legal formalities handed over the bodies to family members for last rites.
The lady and Desh Raj have been arrested, while manhunt was launched to nab the other two accused persons.
A case under FIR Number 29/16 under Section 302, 450 and 201 RPC has been registered against the accused at police station Assar and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Assar Inspector Farooq Ahmed made the arrest under the supervision of DySP DAR DPL Doda and SSP Doda ZN Manhas.
