JAMMU, Mar 16: Chinore and Narwal police arrested four drug peddlers including a lady along with 120 grams heroin, 120 grams poppy straw and Rs 1,24,300 cash.
As per police sources, during patrolling a team from Chinore Police Post intercepted a Wagon-R car bearing registration number JK18A-2184.
During checking, police team recovered 80 grams heroin and Rs 94,900 cash and arrested two persons including a lady traveling in the car.
The arrested persons were identified as Faheem Bashir, son of Nazir Ahmed of Chogham District Shopain and Arifa Jaan, wife of Tariq Ahmed of Tangru Yaripura District Kulgam.
The heroin was kept concealed in steering of car and cash was kept concealed in specially designed case adjacent to the driver’s seat.
During initial questioning, the associate of arrested persons identified as Nasheem Ahmed Malik, son of Ashiq Hussain Malik of Sahidpura District Shopian was arrested with 30 grams heroin and 120 grams poppy straw. A Santro car bearing registration number JKO3C-6043 was also seized.
A case under FIR Number 82/2020 under section 8/21/22/25/27-A/29 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Domana and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment and other persons involved in this illegal trade.
The arrest was made by Incharge Police Post Chinore SI Deepak Bharti under the supervision of SHO Domana Inspector Chanchal Singh, SDPO Domana Kosheen Koul, SP Rural Jammu Suram Singh and SSP Jammu Shridhar Patil.
Meanwhile, a team from Narwal Police Post led by Inspector Khyati Maan Khajuria under the supervision of SHO Bahu Fort Inspector Bishnesh Kumar, SDPO East Bikram Kumar, SP South Vinay Sharma and SSP Jammu Shridhar Patil laid a naka at Rajeev Nagar and intercepted a scooty bearing registration number JK02BN-4486.
During checking, police team recovered 10 grams heroin and Rs 29,400 cash from the possession of the rider and arrested him.
The arrested rider has been identified as Neeraj Kumar alias Pintu, son of Sudesh Kumar of Rajeev Nagar.
A case under FIR Number 93/2020 under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Bahu Fort and investigation started.
It is pertinent to mention here that the arrested rider was involved in a case registered under FIR Number 63/19 under Section 48-A Excise Act with Police Station Bahu Fort.
