JAMMU, Dec 24: The Ladakhi students held protest against Jammu and Kashmir Service Selection Board (JKSSB) for not providing examination centres to them in Jammu.
Large number of Ladakhi students assembled in Exhibition Ground near Press Club under the banner of All Ladakh Students Association Jammu (ALSAJ) and ALSWAJ and raised slogans in favour of their demands.
While addressing the gathering, Rinzin Kalsang, President, ALSAJ said that many Ladakhi students in Jammu applied for the JKSSB exam to be held tomorrow and on December 26 and all preferred Jammu in their choice of examination centres while filling up the form.
“When they received admit cards, it came to fore that all ladakhi students were given centre in Kashmir”, he stated.
The students approached JKSSB Office at Paloura to make changes in the examination centre and every student followed the instruction of the officials. But the students were betrayed by the board and no changes were made in the examination centre, he added.
The JKSSB officials should provide examination centre to Ladakhi students at Jammu so as to save their career, he demanded.
