Ladakh standoff China’s creation

In fact , characteristics of a country with expansionist ambitions are creating disputes out of nothing with its immediate neighbours and do it on a continuous basis and adopt ‘hit and trial’ method till succeeding in usurping territories gradually. China may resist and oppose the charges of expansionism against it , the fact , however, remains that it has over the period, locked horns with as many as 18 countries in its neighbourhood . Our country is a classic example, if we go deep in sequences of events like China disputing the very basis and the fact of the McMahon Line between the two countries and its treacherous attack on India in 1962 . It has intermittently been making unilateral alterations on the Line of Actual Control, and to be honest to admit, nibbling our territories without encountering any resistance all these years post 1962 . However, with the shift in the Government policy towards such a scenario and to resist resolutely any fresh move by China , it finds it difficult to repeat what it has been doing with impunity in the past. Take the case of Doklam in 2017 , China met with probably the first strong resistance from India . Early this year, it started a similar adventure in eastern Ladakh but has been meeting with a tough Indian resistance all these six months of the current standoff.
Evidently, even if the standoff continues , it cannot be disputed, looking to the committed policy of India’s approach towards bi-lateral issues between the two neighbours based on friendship, co-operation and settling disputes through dialogues, that the standoff is wholly and solely the creation of China which has disturbed the equations on the LAC through bringing about unilateral change in the status quo ante. External Affairs Ministry, through its spokesperson, has recently reiterated such a reality only notwithstanding the fact what the Chinese Foreign Ministry may say. China is grossly mistaken that by resorting to bullying tactics laced with spreading lies , it can continue to pursue its insatiable hunger of usurping territories which do not , even in the least, and by any account, belong to it.
That, India cannot be taken for granted in not taking the ”bull” by the horns was adequately brought home to that country by what happened at Galwan clash where its troops of Peoples Liberation Army started the trouble which was shaped into a final ”decision” by the Indian Army by inflicting heavy casualties on the Chinese troops , a fact corroborated by the media throughout the globe. Why should China on the one hand, continuously violate the protocol and all the agreements that bind the two countries in maintaining peace and tranquillity along the entire LAC and on the other hand, feign innocence and try to park the blame on India, is best known to that country but what that reveals is the basis of its problems and issues of similar nature with countries like Russia, North Korea which are its allies, not to speak of with countries like Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Nepal and Japan .
If China would have been really serious to de-escalate the tension on the LAC, it would have not torpedoed several rounds of military and diplomatic talks between the two sides. The stalemate continues and even during the harsh weather conditions currently on the Eastern Ladakh , the two armies are locked with each other and anytime the situation taking an unpleasant turn, cannot be ruled out. However, one ray of hope of the light at the end of the tunnel is that the diplomatic channels are open which must surely be explored to see that the status quo position that existed as on April 2020 is restored on the border. Political and military leadership of the country have repeatedly made it clear that not an inch of Indian territory shall be allowed to be occupied by China and for defending our borders, India was determined and well prepared.
