LEH, Dec 2: A delegation of Ladakh Amchi Sabha, Leh, headed by its President Dr Padam Gurmet, called on R K Mathur, Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, to discuss various issues relating to Sowa-Rigpa in Ladakh.
The major points discussed with Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh include the recent approval of Union Cabinet for establish of National Institute of Sowa-Rigpa in Leh. They also requested the Lieutenant Governor to create provision for registration of Sowa-Rigpa practitioners in Union Territory of Ladakh. The delegates requested Lieutenant Governor to establish 20 bedded indoor patient ward for Sowa-Rigpa in SNM Hospital, Leh and Sowa-Rigpa dispensaries in all 16 Blocks of Leh and 9 Blocks of Kargil district.
It was also requested to setup Hot Spring Therapy Centre along with Hotsprings of Ladakh. The delegation also requested Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh to create Sowa-Rigpal AYUSH Directorate and State Medicinal Plants Board under Union Territory of Ladakh as per with other States and UTs.
The Lieutenant Governor ensured the delegates his full support for preservation and promotion of Sowa-Rigpa in Ladakh.
