Lab technician suspended

SRINAGAR, June 4: A lab technician was suspended today in Budgam’s Chadoora after he collected the sample of a suspected COVID-19 person at his residence in Durbugh village.
The person was tested positive prompting the officials to take action in this regard.
Officials said that lab technician had collected samples of the person from his residence, something which is against the rules and regulations.
They said that after the reports came regarding the negligence on the part of the technician, he has been immediately put under suspension.
The suspension order issued by the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Budgam reads: “It has come to the notice of undersigned that you have made home sampling of one suspected at home which is totally against the norms/SOP of COVID-19 protocol and as such you are hereby placed under suspension.”
He has been attached to the office of the CMO till further orders.
“I have also ordered an inquiry into the matter, till then he will remain suspended for the violations,” Dr Tajamul Hussain told Excelsior.
