REASI, Aug 1: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology-Jammu (SKUAST-J) organized one day long training programme on entrepreneurship development in agriculture at village Painthal of Reasi district.
Large number of farmers participated in the programme, during which Dr Banarsi Lal, Incharge (Head) KVK, Reasi, gave detailed account of agri-entrepreneurship. He suggested the farmers to divert themselves from the subsistence agriculture to commercial agriculture. .He informed the farmers that they can grow the cereals, pulses, oilseeds, marigold, mushroom, beekeeping, aromatic and medicinal plants etc at commercial level. By commercial agriculture they can raise their socio-economic status while hilly areas have immense scope in organic vegetables cultivation, he added.
Dr. Sanjay Kaushal elaborated on turmeric and ginger cultivation as these crops are not effected by the monkeys.
