Lucknow/Gorakhpur, Sep 22. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday announced that the international flights from Kushinagar airport will start by Deepawali. He said this entire region is part of ‘Buddha Circuit’ and this facility will increase the inflow of foreigner tourists.
Yogi said that there is immense potential of tourism in this region hence the officials are being directed to prepare an action plan in consultation with the public representatives. He also declared to celebrate the centenary of the ‘Chauri-Chaura’ movement with fanfare.
The Chief Minister directed to make an integrated action plan to evolve a permanent solution to the nagging flood menace in the Eastern part of the state. The rivers coming from Nepal dumps garbage in the rivers of this region. He asked to resort to dredging of UP rivers of this region to extract dual benefit- relief from floods and availability of sand which will fetch revenue for the district administration.
He was reviewing the development projects of Gorakhpur division comprising Gorakhpur, Deoria, Kushinagar and Maharajganj. The public representatives of all the districts were present in the meeting presided over by the Chief Minister through Video Conferencing.
CM said that Government has controlled the Japanese Encephalitis (JE) and Acute Respiratory Syndrome (AES) to a great extent. Pure water is the key to effective control on JE and other communicable diseases. Make a project for house-to-house water supply in every JE-affected village, he said.
He asked to expedite work in the under-construction AIIMS and HURL Fertilizer factory in Gorakhpur at the earliest. The AIIMS in Gorakhpur will augment the health services not only in Eastern Uttar Pradesh but in the entire state.
He also asked to speed up Sewer Projects under AMRUT scheme in Varanasi, Jaunpur and Ghazipur. The construction and beautification of parks is being taken under AMRUT scheme as well and 15 parks. The CM pointed out that the under-construction Gorakhpur Link Expressway project to be linked to Purvanchal Expressway will change the economic face of the region. Emphasizing on the quality of work and maintenance of the timeline of all the projects, he pointed out that any delay in the developmental works unnecessarily escalates the project cost. Every project should be undertaken on a fixed time-line while observing all the quality norms.
He said to achieve timely completion of the projects, it is extremely important toward work to such agencies which have sufficient manpower and capacity to execute the work ontime. He said that the utilisation certificate should be made available after completion of 75 per cent of the work so that the remaining funds may be released timely.
Those present in the meeting included the Chief Secretary, RK Tiwari, Industrial and Infrastructure Development Commissioner, Alok Tandon, Agriculture Production Commissioner Alok Sinha, Additional Chief Secretary, Home, Awanish Awasthi, Additional Chief Secretary, Finance, Sanjiv Mittal, Additional Chief Secretary, Labour, Suresh Chandra, Additional Chief Secretary, MSME, Navneet Sehgal, Additional Chief Secretary, Higher Education, Ms Monika Garg, Director Information, Shishir and other senior officers.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister also held a meeting with the dignitaries associated with the film industry in connection with the establishment of the Dedicated Infotainment (Film City) Zone in Uttar Pradesh.
He said that the State Government will work with full vigor to speed up the Film City project at a rapid pace.
Film City will be developed as a dedicated infotainment zone, where world class data centers will also be created. This will enable future proof system for Internet enabled content distribution and virtual reality, etc., which are software and data dependents, from the beginning.
On this occasion, Ashok Pandit, Nitin Desai, Vinod Bachchan, Anoop Jalota, Udit Narayan, Shailesh Singh, Kailash Kher, Anupam Kher, Paresh Rawal, Satish Kaushik, Raju Srivastava, etc. also expressed their views.
