KU’s 60th General Orientation course concludes

SRINAGAR, Jan 15: Saying that specializations in various fields of knowledge have become indispensable in today’s world, Vice Chancellor Kashmir University Prof Talat Ahmad today emphasized the need for knowing more and more of less one side and on the other side have the zeal for knowing at least something of other disciplines of knowledge as well .
Prof Talat was speaking at the valedictory event of the 60th General Orientation Course of the Academic Staff College (ASC) University of Kashmir for college teachers which concluded here today.
Terming the Academic Staff College (ASC) Kashmir University as a premier institution for the up-gradation for knowledge and skills, VC asked the trainees at the course to pay attention to the research while teaching.
Registrar Kashmir University Prof Zafar A Reshi said that higher education now is synonymous with quality adding that we must tread the path of efficient management of higher education colleges and universities.
Dean College Development Council Prof Mustafa Shah in his address stressed upon the need to focus more on the quality of higher education and emphasized upon teachers to update their academic competencies.
Dr Farooq Fayaz, Director, Academic Staff College, in his address, pointed out that several innovations were incorporated into 60th orientation course to provide the participants an opportunity to experience teaching-learning pedagogy in different settings and get accustomed to the advancements in multimedia, library and information sciences.
