JAMMU, Apr 3: In view of upcoming Ram Navmi festival, BR Kundal, president, J&K Dharamarth Trust, today reviewed arrangements in Shree Raghunath Ji Temple Jammu in particular and all other Ram Ji Temples in the State, managed by the Dharamarth Trust.
A very colorful Shobha Yatra led by the Rath (chariot) shall be taken out from the historic temple of Shree Raghunath Ji on the evening of April 5 which is scheduled to pass through various bazaars of Jammu city before returning back to the said temple. A number of school children, scouts and guides shall add glamour to the Yatra.
In order to seek the public participation, a number of meetings were held with the presidents and office bearers of associations of the different bazaars, communities, castes, advisory/ development committees of various temples, trade, commerce, religious bodies besides prominent citizens of Jammu.
Details of the participating jhankis and their contents were gone over in detail with the Natak Samaj and Sanata Dharam Sabha. All the participants assured their full participation by decorating/lighting the intended routes and walking along the Shobha Yatra.
It was disclosed by BR Kundal that special Aarti/Pooja shall be held of Shree Raghunath Ji in the Temple around 4 pm and then the deities shall be placed in the Rath with the traditional religious rites.
In absence of the chairman, Trustee Dr Karan Singh, Trustees Yuvraj Vikramaditya Singh (MLC) and MK Ajatshatru Singh shall perform the Pooja and push and pull the Rath. For ensuring the smooth flow of the shobha yatra, law enforcing agencies have duly been notified and their agreement for the intended route obtained.
Kundal appealed the citizens for their wholehearted participation in keeping with the age old traditions of brotherhood and keeping up the name the city which is known as the “City of Temples”.
