JAMMU, Feb 4: Nowabad police arrested a man hailing from District Kulgam and recovered heroin from his possession.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Nowabad Police Station led by SHO Inspector Deepak Jasrotia laid a naka at Bhagat Singh Chowk and intercepted a pedestrian, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police team recovered 1.5 grams heroin from the possession of the pedestrian and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Wasim Ahmed, son of Abdul Ganie, a resident of District Kulgam.
A case under relevant sections has been registered at Nowabad Police Station and investigation started.
