KU to start physical classes for 1st Semester from Mar 22

Srinagar, Mar 17: After remaining off for a year, the University of Kashmir today ordered the resumption of offline classes for Semester 1 students from March 22.
An order issued here by the Assistant Registrar, Academic Affairs, University of Kashmir said that the 1st-semester classes shall open physically/off-line mode from March 22, 2021 and the examination of all courses including OE/GE thereof shall also be conducted physically/off-line mode.
“The teaching departments where the number of students in a class exceeds more than 30 (thirty) shall conduct the classes in a dual-mode (offline/online) on weekly basis to ensure the safety of students and faculty by strictly observing COVID-19 SOP guidelines/directions,” reads the order.
As per the order, the 3rd-semester students (2019 batch) will continue the online classes. “However, they shall attend the 4th-semester classes in offline mode as and when they shall complete the online examination of 3rd semester.”
The decision has come after the recommendations of the committee that was formed to decide on the resumption of physical classes.
The order said that all other examinations already started either in off-line or online mode shall remain unaffected. “Notified COVID-19 SOPs/guidelines issued by the Government shall be followed in letter & spirit by all concerned,” it said.
