SRINAGAR, Sept 25: University of Kashmir is all set to host the 18th Annual Convocation on September 27 at convocation complex of the University.
Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof Talat Ahmad, said that to hold convocation is an event of extreme significance for the University as a whole and particularly this ceremony is the most important day in a student’s life as well.
He said besides grade ‘A’ awarded to KU by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), presently the University offers numerous courses and accommodates more than 4000 students annually and produces dozens of gold-medallists each year.
He said during the occasion they would showcase the success story of the University besides honouring the scholars from Science, Arts, Humanities, Information Technology, Medical and other backgrounds.
Prof Talat said that President Pranab Mukherjee would be the chief guest, who will hand over degrees and medals to outstanding scholars of the University and deliver the convocation address. Governor and Chancellor, University of Kashmir, NN Vohra will preside over the convocation and Chief Minister and Pro-Chancellor of the University, Omar Abdullah, will be the guest of honour, Prof Talat added.
