JAMMU, Dec 20: Various Kashmiri Pandit organisations during an interactive session here called for constitution of national level Apex Committee of all the KP organizations independent of Government control to hold discussion with State and Central Government on burning issues of displaced Pandits.
During the meeting a clarion call was made by the KP leaders to the community for unity to form roadmap on the future of community living in forced exile for last 26 years.
The interactive session was organized by JK Migrant Democratic Front in which representatives of prominent KP organizations participated and put forth their points of view regarding the future course of action for the community.
The Pandit leaders said that the need for constitution for Apex Committee has been felt as the Government was involving the Pandit leadership in the talks on their return and rehabilitation and the community should with one voice put forth its demands.
The leaders during the meeting said that the Government made Apex Committee has not been able to serve the purpose and come to the expectations of the community as such committees were powerless and just a formality to hoodwink the community.
The Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner R K Pandita who was also invited in the interactive session and the problems confronting the community were discussed with him.
President of the Front M K Yogi made an appeal to all KP organizations to come on a single platform for the greater interests of the community.
