JAMMU, May 10: The Kashmiri Pandit Sabha (KPS) has expressed shock over the insensitive and unsavoury comments made by Dr. Farooq Abdullah regarding the Pran Pratishtha of Shree Ram Lalla in the magnificent temple in Ayodhya on the January 22, 2024.
The Sabha demands an unconditional apology from the president of the National Conference for hurting the sentiments of the followers of the sanatan Dharm and said, “The much touted slogan of the National Conference founder Sheikh Abdullah about Hindu Muslim Sikh eitehaad which the party keeps repeating seems to have been forgotten by the present leadership.”
In a statement issued here today, KPS said that it is shocking to see the former Chief Minister trespassing all limits of discretion and decency while making such comments about Shree Ram who is revered by more than 140 crore people in the nation as well as abroad in order to denigrate the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“Such statements have peeled off the mask of secularism which he has been wearing for many decades and has exposed his mindset and political motives. This proves beyond all doubts that the entire politics of the National Conference is aimed at gaining power at all costs and to achieve this objective the party can go to any extent and stoop to any level,” they said.
“In a nation where the overwhelming majority is of those for whom Shree Ram is not only God almighty but also maryada purshotam, these remarks will permanently paint him as a communal person in their eyes,” they added.
The Kashmiri Pandits who are yearning to return and resettle in the land of their forefathers with honour dignity and full sense of security don’t expect such communal and derogatory mindset and utterances from leaders of political parties who have ruled the state for decades and may again be a part of the Government.
