KPs organise meet, discusses issues

JAMMU, Feb 19: A meeting of prominent Kashmiri Pandit (KP) civil society members of camps and non-camps was held here today under the chairmanship of community leader, M.K Yogi.
The meeting discussed most crucial problems being faced by the community in exile.
Vinod Pandita, KP activist participated the meeting as special invitee.
M.K Yogi while addressing the meeting demanded enhancement of monthly cash assistance, permanent employment package for educated youth, balance compensation for the gutted/damaged property of KPs, permanent rehabilitation policy for KPs in the Valley with proper roadmap and improvement in basic needs in camps and non-camps.
He appealed to the Union Home Minister and J&K LG to take a humanitarian review of the problems of KPs and address them in a time bound period.
He also demanded cash assistance/ration to KPs keeping in view the festival of Mahashivratri along with arranging walnuts, vegetables other essential commodities on concession rates on this occasion.
Vinod Pandita while speaking in the meeting advocated for strict implementation of immovable Migrant Property Act 1997. Prominent community members who participated in the meeting were S.L Koul, Ashok Dhar, Hira Lal Bhat, Bal Krishan Bhat, Vishal Jotshi, Shiban Raina, Romesh Bhat, Ashok Bhavnu, Daya Krishan Pandita, Anil Bhan, T.K Koul, Chand Pandita, Ashok Kumar Koul, Rattan Lal and many others.
