“Which Government is currently in power as Kashmiri Pandits leave the Valley? Pandits who had lived in these communities for the past 30 years are abandoning Shopian and other parts of the Valley as a result of targeted killings that have occurred since 2019. Kashmiri Pandits have been protesting in Jammu for the last three months. Why are Kashmiri Pandits being forced to leave the Valley while neither Farooq Sahab nor we are in power?” Mehbooba told reporters in Anantnag today.
“Why are Pandits leaving the Valley when the BJP is in control at the Centre and is in charge here? All oaths were taken in accordance with the Jammu and Kashmir and Indian Constitutions, which include obligations to uphold the J&K’s interests and territorial integrity as well as to recognize the nation’s sovereignty,” she added.
The PDP president alleged that the recent recruitment processes in J&K are corrupt.
“Whether it was FAA candidates or SI aspirants, whose list was canceled after completion of the requirement process, the youth are on the streets every other day protesting. Every recruitment process is corrupt here, and I believe the PM’s comments have added salt to the injuries of the youth instead of healing them,” she said.
