JAMMU, Feb 10:A delegation of Core Group of Kashmiri Pandits from Jagti township held a meeting with Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, R K Pandita and discussed various problems of the Jagti township with him.
As per a release, the meeting was of the view that the administration needed cooperation of people to solve the burning problems.
The issues discussed including the power problem facing the inmates of Jagti township, water scarcity and lack of proper medicare facilities, prevailing insanitation and construction of road from Kandoli Mata temple to Jagti township.
The meeting demanded that the business community members who had opened their small business establishments in the erstwhile camps and were not allotted the shops be given preference in allotment of new shops as they have suffered a lot and were facing many economic hardships.
The delegation demanded posting of teaching staff in Jagti schools with up gradation of laboratory and library. Besides opening of a Police Post at Jagti. The delegation also demanded release of cash relief for February in advance along with arrears in view of the Maha Shivratri festival falling on March 9. It also demanded release of sugar in favour of employees and redressal of problems of need based workers of PHE and Electric Department.
Mr Pandita assured the delegation that all steps will be taken to solve the problems.
