JAMMU, Dec 11: Panun Kashmir (PK) conducted the meeting of its Executive Council here today which was held under the chairmanship of Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, its president.
The meeting decided to suspend all the organizational activities of Panun Kashmir for one month with immediate effect. Instead the rank and file was instructed to devote full time to the successful organization of the ensuing two community programmes i.e. Chetna Divas Programme in the memory of the late martyr Prem Nath Ji Bhat to be held on December 27 at Abhinav Theatre, Jammu and Guru Teg Bahadur Saheb Sanmaan Yatra-2018 from Gurudwara Sheesh Ganj to Anandpur Saheb commencing on January 6 next year.
Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, in his speech, said that it is important for community to stand united in regard to the issues that are directly related with the martyrdom of great Gurus and heroes. They sacrificed their everything for us and the national cause. Both the two programmes have a great significance for KPs struggle in exile and are closely connected with the survival of community , he added.
He said the Kashmiri Pandit community has reached this stage due to the struggle it fought all these three decades. It is important that the continuity of the struggle is ensured in order to achieve the achievable and un-achievable both. This is time to recognize the efforts of everyone who contributed to the cause all these decades. Since Kashmiri Pandits as the indigenous people of Kashmir are the first and primary stakeholders to the land of Kashmir, “we declare our intent to take our struggle to the logical conclusion. Even if it gets converted into a struggle of generations, we will fight it with deep resolve and dedication and commitment’’, he added.
Virender Raina national spokesman PK said that Panun Kashmir would like to make it very clear that the Article 370 and 35A exist in contravention of the fundamental rights guaranteed under the Article 14 of the Indian Constitution to the citizens of India. These need to be abrogated under the due process of law as soon as possible and the Constitution (Application to Jammu & Kashmir State) Order 14th May 1954, be also abrogated along with. The way, Section (A) was added to the Article 35 of the Constitution, the same way can be used to abrogate both 35A as well as the Art 370. “We also demand that the over aged youth issue needs immediate settlement with a onetime compensation plan of Rs twenty five lakhs per family.
