KPC reiterates one place settlement of Pandits

JAMMU, Apr 14: Kashmiri Pandit Conference ( KPC ) in  a meeting at New Delhi today held under the chairmanship of its president, Kundan Kashmiri reiterated it’s demand for one place settlement  at the land of Kashyap in the Valley for  all displaced Kashmiri Pandits  and said none of the  displaced KPs is ready to return to previous locations or clusters on the dictates and directions of others after 31 years of their exile which is not warranted to their safety and security.
Kundan Kashmiri, president KPC stated that  return of displaced KPs is a serious and sensitive issue and needed to be dealt sensitively and appealed all not to play with sentiments of KPs. He said nothing has changed for displaced Kashmiri Pandits, so far,  who are the direct victims of terrorism, separatism and social injustice for the last 31 years. Neither anti—national elements were prosecuted who made them homeless nor killers of the KP community were punished for their barbaric acts. Not any judicial inquiry was conducted on the forced exodus, ethnic cleansings and killings  during the turmoil, so for despite repeated requests made by the community from time to time.
KPC chief further reminded that hours after some Kashmiri Pandits (KPs) arrived in Srinagar on January 25, 1998 for exploring homecoming possibilities, some shadowy gunners in army fatigue appeared in the sleepy Wandhama hamlet of Ganderbal and killed 23 innocent non-migrant KPs. The event not only derailed the homecoming prospects, but also triggered some new migrations. What happened afterwards became the classic case of an untraceable probe.
He said that KPs one place settlement at the “land of Kashyap ‘’ in Kashmir valley is the only viable solution  which could also prove helpful in solving the so-called Kashmir issue.
Hence, KPs in general and Kashmiri Pandit Conference, (KPC ) in particular demand and declare that carving out a separate Kashyap Bhoomi with writ of Indian Constitution  is precondition for KPs return to the Valley for which sincere efforts needs to be taken by the Government and comprehensive dialogue to be held with the displaced Kashmiri Pandit community and its leadership at the earliest possible.
Other KPC activists and leaders spoke on the same lines.
