KPC holds workshop on preservation of culture

NEW DELHI, Aug 19: Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) has appealed the displaced Pandit community settled all over the globe to preserve and protect the Kashmiri language as it is a link to the roots and helps in maintaining the cultural identity.
The KPC, made the appeal at the workshop organised by it here today for preserving the Kashmiri Hindu culture and traditions.
The KPC also expressed concern over the growing divorce rate in the community and said a new trend has taken place after the mass exodus which should be arrested as divorce is not the part of our rich culture. It also urged the community to avoid the family planning as this way the population of the community will decrease considerably. It reiterated its appeal of three child norm to the community.
During the workshop the community youth were also asked to avoid inter caste marriage as this too will lead to extinction of the distinct and ancient Kashmiri Hindu culture which has a history of over 5000 years.
It further urged the community to readopt the joint family system, take due care of elders, change the diet habits and launch a protracted struggle for the consolidated rehabilitation of the community in Kashyap state. The workshop was organized under the leadership of KPC chief, Kundan Kashmiri.
