JAMMU, Dec 20: KPC in its meeting at New Delhi today termed the adoption of resolution on immediate rehabilitation of displaced Kashmiri Pandits by Lok Sabha recently a positive development indicating the concern of whole nation for the hapless people who have been hounded out from the Valley by terrorists and separatists elements.
The meeting, which was chaired by KPC chief, Kundan Kashmiri while lauding and appreciating all those MPs of BJP and other parties in LoK Sabha who adopted the resolution in the House in a voice vote and stressed for taking immediate steps to rehabilitate displaced Hindus from Kashmir Valley as well as people who have migrated from Pak occupied Kashmir (PoK) said this shows the commitment of present Union Government in resolving the refugees issues. The meeting also expressed confidence over the role of Minister of State for Home Affairs, Haribhai Parthibhai Chaudhary who assured the House to take concrete steps to rehabilitate the displaced KPs and solve their problems.
Kashmiri while addressing the meeting said that earlier various KP leaders had met the MoS Home and stressed on permanent rehabilitation of displaced people.
Kashmiri who reiterated the demand for scrapping of Article 370 said the so—called Kashmir problem can be solved if Opposition parties and others would come together and think positively to abrogate the Article and take an initiative on re—organisation of the State. Favoring a nation wide debate on Article 370 Kashmiri said instead of doing any good it has harmed the interests of people in the State and has led Kashmir to present crisis.
He said Article 370 was a temporary provision and it should be done away with now.
He said Central and State Governments should ensure that the displaced people are rehabilitated at a consolidated place in the Valley. He also demanded resolution of other problems and passage of Temples and Shrines Bill.
Other KPC leaders who supported these views in the meeting included Sr. vice President Tej Pandita, Secretary KPC Susheel Bhat, Organizing Secretary R.L.Raina, Ashok Bhat, Rinku Razdan, S.L. Zuthsi etc.
