KP United Coordination Committee holds protest for highlighting demands

JAMMU, Feb 27: Highlighting the grievances and demands of the displaced community, Kashmiri Pandit United Coordination Committee, Jagti Nagrota, organized a protest rally, here today.
The protesters were led by R K Koul, president of the Committee, who also addressed the gathering amidst raising of slogans in support of the demands.
The protesting migrants were demanding financial package for the Kashmiri Pandit youth, who have crossed their overage limit, grant to compensation for the losses suffered by each and every migrant family to their properties in Kashmir valley during past 26 years of migration, ensuring proper medical facilities and medicines in the existing hospital at Jagti, restoration of proper drinking water facility and supply of the same.
“Above all, we demand permanent rehabilitation of the Kashmiri Pandit community in a secured and safe place in Kashmir valley by setting up a satellite township there,” Mr Koul said while addressing the protest rally.
He also appealed the Governor N N Vohra as well as Director General of J&K Police to order conducting a Police recruitment rally at Jagti Migrant township for recruitment of eligible educated youth.
Kanya Lal Sidha, Tickoo, Sachin Handoo and others also addressed the gathering.
