JAMMU, Apr 8: A delegation of prominent Kashmiri Pandits met Kiran Kher, the BJP candidate from the Chandigarh Constituency today on the occasion of Ramnavmi at the BJP head office Chandigarh. A special function was organised on the occasion. The delegation was led by Shivdass Raina, National coordinator, Panun Kashmir (PK).
The members of the delegation besides others comprised B.L.Sadhu (Sqr Leader retd), Sanjay Raina, Kuldeep Kaul, Phoola Raina, Ajay Pandita, Arvind Happa, R.K.Nehru, Vinod Dhar and Sanjay Wattal.
The delegation offered Mrs Kher the auspicious walnuts, salt and Atahor in the function and extended their full support to her candidature.  Satya Pal Jain, BJP leader and former MP from Chandigarh, who conceived the event, presided over the function. The delegation joined  Kiran Kher in her campaign from Sector 61 of Chandigarh.
Kiran Kher assured the delegation of Pandits of her support to the genuine cause and referred to the election manifesto of BJP which mentioned about the Kashmiri Pandits, refugees and abrogation of Article 370. She said that the issue of Kashmiri Pandits remains dear to her. She also said that she stands overwhelmed by the gesture and support of the KP delegation. The world is awaiting the positive change in India under the leadership of  Narender Modi, she added.
The delegation leaders said that the issues of autonomy and Article 370 have been raked up by the political parties in their election campaign. The political parties should instead try to address the pressing issues relating to the displacement of the Kashmiri Pandits and their rehabilitation and also the issues of the vast majority of refugees in the State. The issues of Kashmiri Pandits cannot be brushed under the carpet for long. While political parties are raising the issues of 1984 and 2002 riots which of course are regrettable incidents, they conveniently forget the mass exodus and ethnic cleansing of the Hindu minorities from Kashmir. Panun Kashmir would ensure that the issues related to Kashmiri Pandits continue to agitate the national consciousness and are kept alive for their appropriate redressal.
