Kohli takes stock of people’s problems

RAJOURI, Apr 27: In order to have a first hand appraisal of the problems being faced by the people of rural areas, Minister  for Transport,   Abdul Ghani Kohli today convened a public meeting at Mathyani , Kalakote
Addressing  a large gathering at Mathyani,  Kohli said  Government will  ensure an effective mechanism to make the system more  accountable and answerable  to the people and all possible efforts will be made for overall development of every nook and corner of the state.
During the meeting, people projected various demands pertaining  to  renovation and upgradation of existing  roads , electrification of uncovered habitation , improvement in the drinking water supply facility,  construction of new bridges and other basic  problems of their respective areas seeking an early redressal.
Responding to the demands of locals at Mathyani, Kohli  said that road connectivity to the  rural areas is vital for all round development and ameliorating socio economic profile of rural populace. He said that the Government is paying focused attention to strengthen this vital sector for the development of the State.
He said that besides upgradation of roads, other projected problems   will be considered and redressed in a time bound manner.  He directed the concerned officers to look into the issues raised by the people of the area and initiate necessary steps for an early redressal of the same.
Earlier, Kohli attended a Gojri cultural programme organised by Cultural Academy at Kalakote.
