Kohli takes stock of people’s problems

Rajouri, May 3: Taking the governance to the door steps of people, Minister for Transport, Abdul Ghani Kohli today held a series of public meetings at Teryath and Manva Barvari  Kalakote and reiterated that the present dispensation  is committed towards state’s all round prosperity and development.
Stressing that governance has to be made people -friendly at the grass root level”, the Minister said that providing basic amenities at door steps and fulfilling developmental needs is the top agenda of the Government.  He assured that he will leave no stone unturned to facilitate the development of this region.
The Minister was accompanied by ADDC,  Rajouri,  SDM Kalakote, Chief Medical  Officer, Executive Officer PDD, ARTO , Officers of PHE , Irrigation and concerned department besides large number of people and public representative of the area.
The locals of the area put forth various demands were which mainly related to provision of road for heavy vehicles and repair of connecting link roads, public transport for Teryath and Manva Banvari, upgradation of schools and adequate teaching staff along with opening of mobile schools, provision for new drinking water schemes, installation of new electric transformers, construction of CHC at Manva Banvari and upgradation of CHC at Teryath and village wise availability of lamberdar and chowkidaar.
Referring to the demand of electrification of uncovered areas, the Minister ordered  the concerned  to conduct a survey of the areas and accordingly project the additional requirement  needed to cover the unelectrified area and assured the locals  that he will take up the matter with the concerned minister.
Responding to the demand of mobile schools at Manva Banvari and adequate teaching  staff at Hr. Sec School  Teryath, the Minister  directed the concerned to ensure adequate teaching staff at Teryath   and assured  the locals that mobile school will be provided for the children.
The Minister also directed the  Horticulture  Department to identify a suitable land for construction of  a horticulture centre at Manva Banvari  and Chief Medical Officer was directed to ensure adequate staff  and  well equipped health care facilities at CHC teryath .
Regarding the demands related to provisions of road connectivity for heavy vehicles and repair of connecting links and water connections to uncovered hamlets, the Minister directed the R&B authorities to ensure necessary repair from the funds available besides directing the officers of PHE, Irrigation and flood control for formulation of project and projection of funds required to cover the uncovered hamlets and asked for an early restoration of damaged infrastructure.
Considering the issue of Aadhar card for tribals moving toward dhokas, the Minister directed DDC, Rajouri  to organise  special  camps so that these people also get their Aadhar cards prepared.
The Minister also enjoined upon the officers to improve the work culture and work with more dedication so that the visible improvement is ensured on ground and also sought people’s cooperation saying that his agenda of development of far flung areas can be achieved only with the cooperation of people.
