KARGIL, Aug 24: Minister for Transport, Abdul Ghani Kohli today convened a meeting to review the winter stock position of essential commodities here.
The meeting was attended by Chief Executive Counsellor, Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Kargil, Haji Mohammad Haniefa Jan, Vice Chairman State Khadi and Village Industries Board, Syed Baqar Rizvi, MLA Kargil Haji Asghar Ali Karbali, Executive Counsellor, Aga Sayeed Mujatabe, Executive Counsellor Mohsin Ali, Executive Counsellor Tsering Angdus , Transport Commissioner, Managing Director JKSRTC, Deputy Commissioner Kargil and other senior officers.
It was informed in the meeting that 87,000 quintal rice, 42,000 wheat flour, 11039 quintal sugar and 955 Kilo Litre Kerosene oil has been stocked in the district.
The meeting was informed that wheat flour and kerosene oil stock needs further augmentation.
The stock position of medicines, cement, timber, firewood were also reviewed in the meeting
Addressing the meeting, Minister said that government is aware about the needs of people living in Ladakh. He urged the concerned CA&PD authorities to ensure full stock of all essentials in the area by 15th of October so that people do not face any problem during the winter.
