RAJOURI, Apr 28: Minister for Animal & Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries, Abdul Gani Kohli, today laid the foundation stone of a steel girder bridge at Dhanwan-Dalyote at Kalakote to be constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana scheme at an estimated cost of Rs. 4.29 crore.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that road connectivity is key to progress and prosperity of an area and this vital sector is receiving special attention of the present dispensation. Referring to Government initiatives with regard to the expansion of durable road network in the State, he said that a number of roads have been constructed and upgraded under PMGSY, BADP, CRF among other schemes thereby ensuring road connectivity even in the remotest parts of the State.
Later, Kohli addressed a public meeting at Develian in which a large number of people from adjacent areas participated and put forth their demands for early redressal.
The Minister reiterated Government commitment about socio-economic empowerment of people across the State, adding that upliftment of common people is the main objective of the present Government.
Concerned PMGSY officers and officers from district administration were present on the occasion.
