KARGIL, Aug 23: Minister for Transport. A.G.Kholi, accompanied by Transport Commissioner, Director State Motor Garages and RTO Kashmir, today, started two day visit of Kargil.
At Minimarg, the Minister presided over a function organized by local unit of Army. A colourful cultural programme was presented by the local nomads on the occasion while the Minister distributed prizes among the best artists.
The Minister also handed-over a relief cheque to widow of Masood Ahmad Bakerwal who has lost his life in a blast recently. A relief of Rs. 5000 was also announced to the widow by Kargil Hill Development Council.
The Minister also took stock of the problems of the nomads residing at Minimarg and issued on the spot instructions to the concerned officers for early redressal. He appealed army and local police to extend every help to these nomads during the time of need.
On way to Kargil, the Minister met various deputations at Drass and Kargil and took stock of the problems they are facing. He assured them that all genuine demands would be fulfilled in a phased manner.
On reaching Drass, the Minister was received by Executive Councillor, Mohsin Ali, Deputy Commissioner, Kargil Hassan Khan and district officers.
