Sir,
This has reference to the news item’CM lays foundation stone of Kishtwar campus, ‘DE April 19.
It is quite heart warming that education in the State is reaching at doorsteps of people particularly in rural areas. This will help the students to seek higher education without much inconvenience. In absence of campuses, the rural students had remote chances of getting admission in universities. Those who were fortunate to get admission had to pay through their nose to seek it. It would entail them lodging and boarding costs besides other expenses. Besides time consumption.
Though many campuses have come up in different parts of the State, it will take time before they become centres of learning. This is because these campuses lack required infrastructure and faculty.
Mere opening a Centre won’t do. The Government should ensure that there are research and other facilities to students.
Yours etc….
Sanjay Parihar
