Kishtwar accident toll rises to 3

KISHTWAR, July 10: The toll in the accident which took place here yesterday has risen to three as one more person succumbed to his injuries at Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) Jammu.
As per police sources, yesterday a Cruiser vehicle bearing registration number JK17-8952 was on its way to Balgran from Thathri, when the driver lost control over the vehicle and it landed into deep gorge near Machipal on Thathri-Gandoh road, resulting into on the spot death of two brothers and injuries to four others.
On getting information, police team rushed to the spot and started rescue operation with the help of locals.
All the injured persons were shifted to hospital in Thathri and later referred to GMC Doda. Later all the injured persons were shifted to GMCH Jammu for specialized treatment, where one of the injured persons failed to respond to the treatment and died thereby taking the death toll to 3 in the accident.
The deceased were identified as Uttam Singh, son of Somi Raj of Nagseni, Sunil Kumar, son of Somi Raj of Balgram and Daleep, son of Hans Raj of Machipall.
The injured persons undergoing treatment at GMCH Jammu are identified as Chander, son of Des Raj of Balgram, Bachan Singh, son of Juri Lal of Balgram and his wife Indra Devi.
A case under relevant sections stands registered at Kishtwar Police Station and investigation has been initiated.
