Kisan Sabha holds meet, discusses local issues

KATHUA, Aug 23: Kisan Sabha held one day convention at Sachara in tehsil Billawar and discussed various issues faced by the local populace and formers.
State president of Kisan Sabha, Hari Chand Jalmeria (Advocate) was the chief guest while the convention was presided over by Chuni Lal. A large number of farmers from Billawar and Lohai-Malhar tehsils participated in the convention.
Jalmeria in his address expressed grave concern over the worst condition of roads linking Macchedi, Badnota, Malhar, Mmarhoon and Kurhetar areas. He also expressed grave concern over the shortage of doctors in the Sub-District Hospital Billawar and other hospitals, shortage of teachers in Government schools in far off rural areas, denial of district status to Billawar.
He said that the Government was not paying due attention to the comprehensive development of rural areas and to the agriculture and allied sectors.
Others who addressed the convention include Krishan Gopal, Vinod Raeothia, Hukam Chand Jalmeria, Kushi Ram (Ex Sarpanch Macchedi), Shamsher Singh, Waryam Singh, Arvind Singh Jalmeria and Angrez Singh.
