JAMMU, Jan 11: Kisan Sabha here today celebrated its 39th Foundation Day by organizing a function which was presided over by Master Swaran Singh, Uday Chand and Tek Chand Sapolia.
Founder President of Kisan Sabha, Hari Chand Jalmeria while speaking on the occasion said that farmers comprise over 75 per cent of country’s population.
“During the past 70 years of democratic rule in India, the farmers are not getting profitable prices for their agricultural produce and their children are not getting quality education and jobs,” he said.
He further said that due to wrong policies of the Government towards farmers, they are forced to sell their lands or convert its use from agricultural to non-agricultural purposes like building colonies, banquet halls, brick kilns, shopping malls etc.
