Kidnapped minor girl rescued by police

JAMMU, May 15: A kidnapped minor girl was rescued today by Bahu Fort Police.
Giving information about the case, a police spokesperson said that on May 5, a complaint was lodged by guardians of a girl against another person namely Kuldeep Singh son of Vikram Singh, resident of Thakarakote (Reasi) stating that the latter has kidnapped a minor girl who was living in their house.
He said a case under relevant sections of the law was registered in this connection at Police Station Bahu Fort and investigation started. “During investigation, a team of Police Station Bahu Fort led by SHO Inspector Nayat Ali assisted by PSI Adarsh Thakur did strenuous efforts and with the help of CCTV footages of the area finally got the input regarding the minor girl,” he added.
The spokesperson said that the minor girl was finally traced from Bilaspur (Himachal Pradesh) from where a special police team brought her back. The accused was arrested, he said while adding that the whole operation was done under the supervision of SDPO East Syed Zaheer Abbas Jafari and overall supervision of SP City South Mamta Sharma.
Further investigation of the case is going on, he added.
