SRINAGAR, May 5: Police in Kulgam today recovered a kidnapped girl and arrested the accused person involved in the commission of crime.
In a statement issued here, police said that on July 19, 2020, Manzgam police received a complaint from a person stating that his daughter (name withheld) had been kidnapped by one person namely Imran Gorsi @Abrar, son of Mir Mohammad Gorsi, resident of Yarikha, DH Pora.”
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 34/2020 under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Manzgam and investigation was initiated.
Police said that an investigation team headed by SHO Manzgam under the supervision of SDPO DH Pora was constituted. Acting on specific leads, the team was able to recover the kidnapped girl and arrest the accused person from Yarikha, DH Pora, Kulgam.
“He has been shifted to PS Manzgam where he remains in custody,” police said.
After fulfilling all medico-legal formalities, police said, the girl has been handed over to her legal heirs. Investigation into the matter is in progress.
