Kid burnt to death, 1-year old brother critically injured as house catches fire

KATRA, Oct 11: In a tragic incident, a three-year old child was charred to death while his one-year-old younger brother sustained critical burn injuries when a house caught fire at Serbad in Katra.
The fire broke out this morning around 9.30 a.m in the rented house of Yashpaul Singh when he was not at home while his wife had also gone for taking their elder son to a nearby school. The door was locked and both the minor kids of Yashpaul Singh were inside when some neighbours noticed smoke and fire emanating from the house.
Despite hectic efforts by the people, both the minors, identified as one-year old Aryan and three-year old Aditiya, both sons of Yashpaul Singh, resident of Salal Reasi, presently putting up at Serbad Katra, sustained critical burn injuries in the fire. They were immediately shifted to CHC Katra where doctors referred them Government Medical College Hospital Jammu because of their critical condition.
In the late afternoon, 3-year old Aditya succumbed to his burn injuries while condition of Aryan was also stated to be critical.
Cause of fire could not be ascertained while Police has registered a case in this connection.
Meanwhile, reports from village Larr in Mahore area said that roof of a Kacha house was gutted in a sudden fire. The house belongs to one Mohd Akbar, son of Mohd Ramzan of Larr. Fortunately, there was no loss of life in the incident.
