Kichloo lays foundation stone of Atholi-Gausi road

KISHTWAR, June 6: Minister of State for Industries and Commerce, Home, R&B. MED, Housing, H&UDD, Tourism and Culture Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo visited remote tehsil of Padder and held a public grievance redressal camp at Gulabgarh Padder.
The Minister was accompanied by Brij Mohan Sharma, Ex-MLC, ADDC Kishtwar Avtar Singh Chib, SP Kishtwar Sanjay Kotwal and other district officers.
A large number of people including Panchs and Sarpanchs of Ligri, Massu, Garh, Palali, Kigaie, Atholi, Kaban and Ishtyari participated in the meeting. The people of the area raised several issues including electricity, ration, infrastructure, etc.
Mr. Kichloo directed the concerned officers to look into the issues on priority including the commissioning of electricity in the villages of Sohal and Massu. Regarding electrification of left out habitations, the Minister was informed that it will be carried out in 2nd phase of RGGVY.
With regard to shortage of ration in the region, the Minister directed ADDC to hold enquiry of whole matter. On issues concerning education infrastructure, staff and appointment of new teachers, the Minister issued on spot directions to the concerned officers.
During the meeting, people presented various other issues before the Minister including shortage of drinking water in villages, damaged pipes and non cleanliness of reservoirs. The Minister sought detailed replies from PHE authorities in this regard and asked them to address the matter immediately.
The Minister informed the gathering that reputed companies have shown interest to work in Sapphire mines and this would provide job opportunities to the local educated youths of the area.
For the upcoming Machail Yatra, the Minister directed the administration to blacktop the road from Gulabgarh Bridge to Taxi Stand and announced that street lights on both sides of the road will also be installed.
A tourism project of Rs 8 crore has already been sanctioned under which Yatra Sarai, huts, parks and allied infrastructure will be developed, the Minister added.
Earlier, the Minister fulfilling long pending demand of people laid the foundation stone of Atholi-Gausi road and directed the executing agency to complete the road in time bound manner.
