JAMMU, Dec 1: Senior National Conference leader and former Minister Sajjad Ahmad Kichloo demanded a rollback on the decision of the Governor’s Administration to treat the J&K Bank as a public sector undertaking.
In a press statement Kichloo said that the SAC ordered that the J&K Bank would come under the RTI purview and also be treated as a PSU. He said such decisions smack of attempts to fiddle with the basic characters of the State’s special status. Because due to the special status, only State Legislature is authorized to do anything without the interference of the Central Government except the three matters i.e Defence, Foreign Affairs and Communications because it is related to the security concern and no any State is authorized to breach the privacy but here is case of State issue particularly Jammu and Kashmir and it put a question mark on the special status when it comes under the purview of Governor rule or the President rule.
He said the J&K Bank is a part of this game plan, and this was the reason that NC, PDP and Congress joined together to form a Government and prevent to Jammu and Kashmir from such interventions. He said Governor’s rule is not a permanent arrangement and that the administration must concentrate on day-to-day functioning of the State and avoid taking decisions with long-term consequences.
