KISHTWAR, Aug 27: As a part of party campaign to educate the people about the impact of abrogation of Article 35-A of the Constitution of India, NC legislator Sajjad Kichloo and other party leaders while launching a scathing attack on PDP-BJP over the issue alleged that both the parties are playing hide & seek over this important issue with the people of the State.
While addressing large gathering of party workers during a party convention under the leadership of party District president Kishtwar, Tanveer Ahmed Kichloo here today, party MLC and former minister Sajjad Kichloo said that coalition partner PDP and BJP are not on same page over the issue. He said the State BJP leadership should clear its stand on infringement of special rights enjoyed by the State of Jammu and Kashmir.
Kichloo said that BJP and PDP are trying to bring the people face to face on religious issues. He said the Article 35-A is not the issue of Hindu and Muslims or Jammu verses Kashmir. Infact, Article 35-A guaranteed equal rights to people of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh. He said that party had taken the responsibility to educate the people about the pros and cons of Article 35-A so that any attempt to abrogate Article 35-A could be jointly resisted tooth and nail.
The NC leader further said that the move to abrogate Article 35-A of the Constitution of India is to give benefits to leading industrialist of India who are eyeing the land in J&K for establishment of business units which will make direct impact on the jobs of poor. He warns PDP-BJP Government over trickling with Article 35-A of the Constitution and added that people will come on roads to defend the citizens rights. He said that abrogation of Article 35-A will make direct impact on jobs in the State. He said that many other States in India demanded similar laws added that Maratha Movement launched by the political parties like Shiv Sena in Maharashtra is due to dominance of non locals.
