Khanna terms oppn’s silence on stone pelting deaths unfortunate

JAMMU, Oct 27: BJP leaders have taken opposition parties to task for maintaining stoic silence on stone pelting deaths and said that the stone pelters deserve no mercy.
While BJP national vice president and Prabhari, J&K, Avinash Rai Khanna said that complete silence maintained by opposition political parties on the stone pelting especially on security forces jawans that resulted into the martyrdom of an army jawan in Kashmir Valley is totally unfortunate, BJP State president, Ravinder Raina who strongly condemned the dastardly act, said stone pelters deserve no mercy.
Expressing his serious concern over the death of an army jawan, Rajendra Singh, who succumbed to head injuries caused by stone pelting by a group of youth in Anantnag by pass area of Kashmir Valley, Khanna, said that the complete silence on part of the opposition parties over such inhuman incidents is most unfortunate and need to be condemned by one and all.
He said it is strange that the opposition political parties are in a rat race to condemn the killing of those waging war against the nation and carrying weapons to unleash murder, damage to the public property and disturb the peace in the State and do not muster courage to speak even a single word of disapproval against such incidents and those responsible for them.
Khanna said that the involvement of youth in incidents of violence and taking on to terrorist activities is not healthy for the society, the State and the nation and it becomes the duty of political, social, religious organizations to counsel the misguided youth to shun the path which spoils their career.
BJP State president, Ravinder Raina said anybody involved in helping terrorists must be dealt with iron hands.
Raina, who was speaking at a function at party office here, today reasoned that the recent misadventure of stone-pelters, in which the brave Jawan has been martyred is extremely unfortunate. He said that these stone pelters are openly serving the interests of terrorists during important military operations to hamper the establishment of peace, so they deserve harshest punishment. He stressed that they are no innocent, as they are attacking the security persons with a clear intention to fatally injure them with stones or any other handy dangerous object.
