Khan inspects quarantine centers, takes stock of facilities for inmates

KARGIL, May 27: Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan today inspected several quarantine facilities set up by the district administration in Kargil and took stock of the healthcare and other requisite facilities available to the inmates.
The quarantine centres inspected included Hotel Highland, Hotel Royal Gasho and Hotel Kargil Heights. The CEC was accompanied by the Chief Medical Officer Kargil Dr Muhammad Ibrahim Khan, Nodal Officer for Quarantine Facilities/Isolation Centers and Naib Tehsildar Kargil Muhammad Hassan besides other concerned officers.
CEC Khan interacted with the doctors and other paramedical staff and inquired about the healthcare and other necessary facilities extended to the persons who are under quarantine in different designated facilities. He asked the concerned authorities to ensure proper care and hygiene besides maintaining social distancing within the premises of the facilities as per standard operating procedures (SOPs) in place to deal with COVID-19 cases.
Meanwhile, the concerned officers informed the CEC that all the required quarantine facilities including rest and recuperation have been established besides administrative arrangements like perimeter security, food and water supply, bedding, laundry, entertainment, sewage disposal, transportation and other requisite facilities have been organized by the administration at the quarantine and isolation facilities.
Medical support like daily examination, laboratory testing, advice on disinfection and bio-medical waste management, public health measures, management of symptomatic patients, surveillance and referral to isolation wards has also been organized.
The officers concerned further informed the CEC that out of the 288 Iran returnees put under institutional quarantine, 4 tested positive and were shifted to the dedicated COVID-19 Hospital where their condition is stable and are improving well.
The concerned officers also informed the CEC that regular inspections of quarantine centres are being carried out to check the facilities being provided to the patients at these centres.
The CEC directed the officials not to take any chances and follow the guidelines with utmost care besides asking the quarantined people to cooperate with the administration which is imperative for their safety and the safety of their families and community.
