Srinagar, Feb 20: A well known Architect of State, Munir Ahmad Khan has been conferred with a prestigious award for professional excellence at INT-EXT Expo 2019 “Architects Meet” held at Chandigarh.
The award ceremony was organized by Times of India Group in collaboration with Indian Institute of Architects Punjab and Haryana and Udan Media and Communications Ltd.
This award is given to the architects and professionals for their exemplary work in architecture industry and fifteen architects and professionals of India were felicitated in the award ceremony.
Munir Khan, who acquired his B. Arch from Chandigarh College of Architecture in 1977 and Masters in Town Planning from School of Planning and Architecture ,New Delhi in 1980 with specialization in Country Planning from Poland in 1983, retired in 2012 as Chief Architect of J&K State after putting in about 35 years of distinguished services.
Khan is a well known practicing Architect of the State at present. He has been awarded this prestigious award for his outstanding contribution in “Religious Architecture” especially for designing Charar-i-Sharief Shrine and other shrines of prominence.
He is also a recipient of Bharat Jyoti Award 2006 and best Citizens of India Award 2006 for his outstanding services in the field of Architecture.
