JAMMU, Aug 22:  Member Legislative Council, and Member National Executive, BJP Ashok Khajuria today started the work for the beautification of historical Jasmer Garh Fort at Jandi, Hiranagar. Khajuria was accompanied by MLA Hiranagar Kuldeep Raj and MLA Kathua Rajeev Jasrotia.
The beautification work includes the construction of platform, restoration of protection wall and path along the protection wall of the Fort. Khajuria along with other leaders was warmly welcomed by the Management Committee of the Kali Temple which is situated inside the Fort.
While speaking on the occasion Khajuria said that such forts and temples are the part of our tangible heritage and such heritage should be preserved. He further said that it is the moral duty of our generation to preserve this for posterity.
The estimated cost of the project is around ten lakh and the funds for the same have been provided by the MLC out of his CDF. Khajuria directed the Block Development Officer Hiranagar and other officials of the Rural Development Department to complete the project in the stipulated time.
Th. Ranjit Singh, Ashwani Sharma, Mohan Lal Sharma, Deepak Singh Jasrotia, Mukesh Padha, Subash Raina, Sohan Lal, Davinder Singh, Subash Sharma, Ram Pal were prominent among those present on the occasion.
