JAMMU, Feb 28: Former State president BJP & MLC Ashok Khajuria, along with Mouni Maharaj Ashram Management President Neeraj Sharma and BJP youth leader Karan Singh dedicated to public the newly constructed bathrooms and toilets in the premises of Mouni Baba ancient ashram in Dhounthly Dhakki falling in Jammu East Assembly Constituency in presence of a large number of senior citizens, devotees and BJP activists of Old City.
The work for construction of these public conveniences was initiated by Ashok Khajuria after laying their foundation stone during his previous tenure as MLA of the Constituency and an amount of Rs 6 lakh was released to Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) for the same.
Ashok Khajuria, while speaking on the occasion, said that Jammu Old City has the distinction of being an area which has a number of ancient and historic monuments including royal palaces, religious places etc which themselves are the symbols of civilization, culture and communal harmony.
He expressed hope that the Ashram Management will keep these bathrooms and toilets clean and maintain.
Karan Singh said that the ancient ashram is visited by a large number of people every day and there was a dire need of such public conveniences.
Neeraj Sharma said that the construction of public connivances and bath rooms was long pending demand of the people.
Besides senior officials of JMC including Pramod Sharma and J.P. Saraf, social and political activists Dalip Chanderva-nshi, Govind Sareen, Subash Gupta,Naresh Pradhan, Daleep Gupta, Naresh Abrol, Shashi Sapolia, Kulbhushan Mohtra, Chuni Singh, Ravi Singh, Dwarka Nath, Rajinder Singh, Rohit Badyal, Manik Sharma, Sudershan Singh Wazir, Jagdish Singh, Deepak Sharma, Sahil Sharma were prominent among those who were present on the occasion.
