NEW DELHI, Oct 18: Chief Minister of Kerala, Oommen Chandy called on Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh here and discussed a wide range of issues relating to his State.
Chief Minister offered his inputs regarding the official exercise undertaken by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) for empanelment of Civil Service Officers, particularly IPS officers of Kerala cadre. He also referred to the increasing requirement of officers at senior level in order to discharge diverse nature of responsibilities which are increasing with each passing day.
Dr Jitendra Singh assured Oommen Chandy that the priorities and the requirements of the State Government will be given full consideration while carrying out the empanelment of IAS and IPS officers, and that the increase in number of certain posts, as suggested by the CM, will also  sought to be worked out to whatever extent possible.
Dr Jitendra Singh also brought to the notice of the Kerala Chief Minister, a personal DO letter written by him to all the Chief Ministers requesting them to take a lead in identifying such Government jobs for which recruitment can be carried out without holding an interview.
Dr Jitendra Singh reiterated the Modi Government’s path – breaking decision to do away with the attestation of documents and said, very soon there might be a video conference with all the Deputy Commissioners across the country to impress upon them to encourage the common public, particularly youth, to switch over to self-attestation of certificates.
