JAMMU, Apr 30: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu, Dr Vinod Kumar, today presided over a comprehensive security review meeting at the District Police Line (DPL) in Jammu.
During the meeting attended by Zonal SPs, SP PC Jammu, SDPOs, DySP PC Jammu, DySP DAR, and DySP DSB, SSP Kumar provided an update on the current security landscape in Jammu City and the surrounding districts.
He called on the officers to exhibit utmost dedication and vigilance in maintaining security and addressing any emerging concerns promptly.
He advised the officers to particularly monitor Over Ground Workers (OGWs), released and surrendered militants, history-sheeters, and other anti-social elements closely.
The SSP Jammu highlighted the need for a sharper focus on both human and technical intelligence to prevent any untoward incidents effectively.
Additionally, SSP Kumar instructed the officers to enhance patrolling and establish a stronger presence in sensitive areas, especially those near the boundaries with neighboring districts and close to the International Borders and Line of Control.
The officers in attendance committed to working diligently to ensure a peaceful atmosphere throughout the district, echoing the SSP’s call for enhanced security measures and intelligence gathering.
Meanwhile, the SSP Jammu, accompanied by zonal and sub-divisional police officers, conducted a thorough security review of the newly operational Ring Road and its adjacent areas within the RS Pura, Gandhinagar, and Domana police sub-divisions.
During the visit, strategic locations were identified for the deployment of additional manpower, static pickets, Wi-Fi-enabled CCTV surveillance, ANPR vehicle tracking cameras, smart sheds, and highway patrol vehicles.
The 56 km long Ring Road, a significant government project, intersects several state highways and link roads, especially those from border areas, necessitating increased security measures to monitor and deter anti-social and anti-national elements effectively.
